Almost every project and polaroid are interactive.

images, they are merely for aesthetic purposes and
serve as a "moodboard" that have inspired me as a
designer and artist.
Objective Statement

Creating a brand identity to establish
a unique image to the ideas and projects
for a corporation or working freelance are
both optimal for creating that desired brand
identity. My highest aspiration as a designer
is to become a creative director for my own
fashion label or for an existing one as well
as expanding on my own design projects to
turn them into legitimate businesses.

Book Cover Design of Published Work

I was given the honor to design a book cover for a
for a former English Professor named Juan Ochoa and
this design was a re-design of an old book cover I did
about seven years ago. I was blessed to also have my
name credited in the first page of the book.

Unfortunately, I wasn't given the ability to engage with the
back design of the cover for the blurb and the pull quotes
were added after the fact. If I was given the opportunity to
add the text myself, I would've done it with the font I had
intended for the cover, which was Helvetica Neue.

This job is the most important to me because it's one that I
was considered for and was given the proper credit for as
well. The book is available for purchase on Amazon and is
a good read in my personal opinion.

Mobile UI/UX Application Project

This project was an assignment that required
us to design a mobile app that required to learn
how to design a user interface and create a
business revolving around the project.

The concept is based off a personal project
named Almighty, Him. A faith-based fashion label
with a sleek, moody, and designer edge that is
up against the conventions of modern-day
Christian apparel.

My personal project was used as a catalyst to
create a user mobile experience if I were to have
an app developed for my label with a stylistic focus
to the user experience.

Having an aesthetic very reminiscent of the brand's
visual language while having a simple and intuitive
user interface that is easy to navigate without any
struggle or confusion.

Business Inquiry Brand Book Project

This was an assignment that required us to design
a business booklet as a showcase for a fictional
business's design language, and a brief explanation
over the use of how the logo and aesthetics should
be used in practice.

My project was based on Hong Kong filmmaking
production company named Chungking Express
Productions. The fictional production company
focuses on working on small budget projects to give
new upcoming filmmakers an opportunity to tell their
stories at a smaller scale.

The company dedicates itself to tell realistic and
grounded stories from either a social, political, or
personal perspective from the filmmakers.

Roger Deakins Creative Magazine

This project was another assignment that
challenges us into making a couple of magazine
spreads and making it about a certain topic, subject
or person of interest.

Keeping all of this mind and to use our creative skill sets
into making an interesting, appealing and intuitive
magazine for a great reading experience.

This magazine was made out to the legendary
cinematographer Roger Deakins and briefly going into his
mindset on how he constructs the visuals for the film
projects he was involved in as well as his work ethic and
a quick rundown of his filmography of the many award-
winning and critically-acclaimed films he had worked on.

Apart from the magazine, we also had a design a poster
that would advetise the product.

Fashion Label Post Cards

This assignment required us as a class to reimagine
any subject matter, brands or identities by doing post
cards with our design language and to have each one
of them represent a stylistic approach that differs from
the next one.

We were allowed to do whatever subject we wanted
as long as there was a variety of identities within it.

In this instance, I went with fashion brands that I either
personally own or associated myself with in terms of
its influence.

Each post card speaks volumes with their unique creative
style that is associated with the brand's visual identity and
their respected design language.

Coffee Brand Physical Brochure

This project required us as a class to create a fictional business
of any kind and to create a physical brochure containing more
content and information related to the company and with
other forms of advertisement like posters.

The fictional business I went with is a coffee production and
distributing company sourcing from various countries all around
the world to making categories of coffee related products.

The company named Beaverton is an Oregon based company
that emphasizes genuine coffee distribution with a stylistic edge,
and a conscious outlook on the environment.

Kanye West and the Donda Era Magazine Project

This was a fun project assigned to us as a class to work on a
magazine completely customized to write about any figure or
subject matter that interested us or that inspired us as designers.

The magazine I chose to design was in homage to artist and fashion
designer Kanye West or "Ye" during his DONDA era where he had
made a significant change to his music, aesthetics, and the furthering
in his spiritual journey all while paying homage to his late mother
Donda West.

This project required us to be creative with our research and how we
decide to convey the information we find with outside the box thinking
or inspiration from existing magazines and placing our own unique
twist to magazine design.

We were then later encouraged to print physical copies of our magazines
to showcase it to our classmates as part of the finishing touches to the
assignment at the end.

Redesigning Logos of Local Businesses

Solum Coffee Roasters and RBK Flower Bar are two businesses
that had taken into consideration a rebranding of their logos. I had
offered my services to these businesses after realizing that the
had logos that could use a change that would be better reflect their
identities. I had done both of these logo redesigns for free for I was
given the chance because I was trusted with their logos and did it
out of goodwill and for my personal attraction to both businesses.

Solum Coffee Roasters is a coffee shop located in McAllen, TX
after their first years being established as a coffee bar inside
another business in Palmhurst, TX. The owner of the shop had
lived in Japan for a couple of years and had brought over
new found knowledge of coffee roasting and applied these
practices to his own shop.

The logo is sleek and simple as a way to show the shop's rapid
growth in 2024 and 2025. Their old logo was a drawn logo that
had the resemblance of a small business or an "etsy" style
business and I wanted to help change it to appear modern and
more potential to franchise.

RBK Flower Bar is a flower bar business made up of a small
group of young adults who attend farmer's market events and
will have pop-ups in local businesses. The owner of the bar is
looking into getting her own brick-and-mortar establishment and
this also meant she needed a redesign for her logo.

The logo for RBK Flower Bar is elegant and modern, to reflect a
stylish and appealing logo that states right away what kind of shop
she is running. It is simple and includes a motto that is incorporated
into the business's DNA.

Both of these businesses continue to operate with these logos with
the exception of Solum Coffee Roasters as they removed the black
bar on the left side of the logo and replaced it with a split half design
of a coffee roaster.

Market Crash Fashion Brand Concept Project
Part of the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley
Senior Capstone Art Exhibit

The 2024 Senior Art Exhibit at UTRGV was an entire class worth
dedicated to preparing for this exhibit by the end of the semester
and we were at liberty to make a display on anything kind of business
showcase or service we want. In this instance, I decided to go with a
high-end designer brand with many inspirations from existing brands
in the avant-garde, goth and punk fashion scenes.

The fictional designer brand Market Crash is a concept label that
dives into the nuances of high-end fashion as it sheds light into the
absurdity of the expensive nature of brands that are designed to
keep consumers in crippling debt, by selling the idea of being part of
a club or a circle of belonging if participating in the spending of
expensive garments. It also twists the presentation of designer labels
with an ironic tone with a dark sense of humor.

Everything presented was photographed and designed by myself and
every model are locals who volunteered to be part of this project.

Analog Photography Film Prints

Perhaps one of my favorite classes during my last two semesters
of college, I was tasked to go out and to take photos with an 1970's
Japanese analog film camera provided to us by the professor and
to take photos to pursue a certain concept, mood, or aesthetic that is
unique to us. Later, we had to develop each roll of film we used in a
darkroom and to develop film prints of each shot we took.

In this case, I decided to pursue a series of night time street
photography style that encapsulated certain moments during
photoshoots of my fashion project Almighty, Him. I was able to
gather some models to pose for the shots and used that opportunity
to fulfill the tasks of my class assignment.

The film prints involve some indoor photos while most of them are in
the outdoors.
